i have that old belief hanging over my head which has kept me from getting any- so i am hoping that i can gain some insight here...

Re: hi- i just joined
Sun, August 22, 2004 - 6:57 PMi have a few tattooer friends who are plenty willing to be my first- it has nothing to do with the whole tattoo action/world-
it's the religious thing-
not being burried near my parents- but then again i'm not so sure i want to be burried anyways-
so there's the line i stand on...
however- i appreciate you answering so quickly... -

the Jewish cemetary question
Sat, August 28, 2004 - 4:03 PMMy partner is a funeral director and says that unless it is an orthadox cemetary, the tattoos really don't matter these days. Which my mother will be happy to hear, since that's the first thing she screamed at me when she saw my first tattoo ten years ago: "Are you crazy?!! Now you can't be buried in the family plot with the nice benches with our name on them!!!" -

Re: the Jewish cemetary question
Wed, September 1, 2004 - 11:20 AMi find it so strange that there are so many rules for burial...
i mean- i understand the root- going back the way we came-
but come on... just doesn't make sense anymore... -

Re: the Jewish cemetary question
Tue, September 14, 2004 - 4:12 AMi say go for it, as a previous poster mentioned, rules are not really followed that much these days, personally im being cremated so it should not matter but honestly if you really want something (a tattoo in this instance) and it has meaning, by all means you should go for it, if it is just a passing fancy, forget about it.
all my tattoos hold special meanings for me, reminders or symbols that keep me grounded in this particular lifetime, i have no regrets whatsoever.
